Permanent Addiction Counsellor Job in Barnsley

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Addiction Counsellor to join our team in Barnsley on a full-time basis.

Salary: £18,803 - £27,100 per annum

About the Role

As an Addiction Counsellor, you will work with clients to address their substance use and related behaviours. You will conduct assessments, provide counselling, and collaborate with probation officers and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct assessments and provide individualised counselling to clients
  2. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive support
  3. Develop and deliver therapeutic support programmes
  4. Provide group therapy and support
  5. Work with clients to address substance use and related behaviours

Requirements:

  1. At least two years of direct client work experience, with at least one year in a therapeutic setting
  2. Counselling qualification
  3. Experience in developing and delivering therapeutic support programmes
  4. Flexible and open approach to client care
  5. Knowledge of health and safety, including assessing high-risk situations
