Head of Mechanical Power Transmission

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our Mechanical Power Transmission, Bearings, and Linear category. As Head of Category, you will be responsible for driving the commercial strategy, managing a multi-disciplinary team, and owning the P&L for the category.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute the commercial strategy for the category, including defining the category proposition, setting and executing promotion strategy, and driving procurement.
- Lead a team of category experts, including product managers, procurement specialists, and business development managers.
- Manage the development and capabilities of category team members.
- Own the Mechanical Power Transmission, Bearings, and Linear P&L and drive actions to manage and improve it.
- Define core suppliers and brands for the category.
- Define product assortment and sell-out price strategy.
- Gather and provide market intelligence to inform category strategy.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
- Drive product innovation within existing offerings.
- Implement sales initiatives, including campaigns, training, and sales enablers.
- Drive category sell-out and reach expected levels of stock turn.
- Support quotes, tenders, and special projects.
- Identify opportunities for cross-sell, OEM conversion, and value creation.
- Address product queries from sales network and customers.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments to ensure category strategy is current and driving business growth.
You will report to the UK Commercial Director and work closely with the following stakeholders:
- Category Business Development
- Category Support Specialist
- Procurement Manager
We are looking for a candidate with:
- Excellent technical knowledge of the Mechanical Power Transmission, Bearings, and Linear category, products, and application.
- Understanding of the industry, markets, trends, and developments.
- Ability to set and implement product strategy.
- Ability to liaise with different stakeholders in the organization.
- Ability to manage a P&L and drive sales and margin.
- Data management and analysis skills.
