About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join the Standards Commission for Scotland as an Ethics Commissioner. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to maintaining high ethical standards in public life in Scotland.

About Us: The Scottish Parliament is responsible for promoting and enforcing Codes of Conduct for Councillors and Members of Devolved Public Bodies, ensuring that these individuals maintain the highest standards of conduct.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • To encourage and promote high ethical standards in public life in Scotland;
  • To advise and assist the Commissioner for Ethical Standards in Public Life in Scotland on matters related to the Codes of Conduct;
  • To provide expert advice and guidance to councils and devolved public bodies on matters related to ethics and conduct.

Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need to have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to absorb and analyse complex information, and the capacity to reach sound and impartial decisions.
