About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting safety inspections, providing health and safety advice to members, and delivering toolbox talk training.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert guidance on Construction Health, Safety, and Welfare to all members.
  • Ensure you are up-to-date with relevant legislation and new developments in the field.
  • Visit construction sites monthly to advise on Health, Safety, and Welfare for members and twice-monthly for membership plus.
  • Submit regular reports to members and the Group Manager as a result of site visits.
  • Investigate accidents on site and provide written reports to Group Members.
  • Liaise with enforcing agencies when necessary.
  • Assist Group Members in preparing Health and Safety Policies.
  • Advise and assist in site/office/workshop audit procedures.
  • Carry out Toolbox talks and Ad Hoc training for Group Members.
  • Prepare handouts and course content when necessary.
  • Provide information to the Group Manager for regular reporting to the Management Committee.
  • Liaise with the Group Manager on attendance at training and course seminars to maintain knowledge of Construction Health, Safety, and Welfare legislation, regulations, and codes of practice.
  • Provide statistics on breaches of Safety, Health, and Welfare found on sites covered by them on a monthly basis.
  • Perform any other duties required from time to time and support other Safety Advisors.

Person Specification:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding administrative and organisational skills.
  • Proficient working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Able to work under your own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Availability of a vehicle, which you will be reimbursed for through monthly expenses.

Financial Responsibilities:

  • Inform the Group Manager of any charges to be made to Group Members in respect of training, additional site visits, additional mileage, etc.
  • Maintain a daily record of mileage carried out while on Group activities.
  • Submit monthly expenses for current month for reimbursement in salary.

Salary: £35,000 - £45,000 per annum (dependent on experience).

Location: Covering Norfolk.
