Senior Eating Disorder Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional to join the Avon and Wiltshire Mental Health Partnership NHS Trust's Specialist Community Eating Disorder Team. The team provides quality care to individuals living with eating disorders in Bristol, North Somerset, South Gloucestershire, Bath, and North East Somerset.
Main Responsibilities- Act as an autonomous practitioner within the Eating Disorder Service, responsible for a clinical caseload using the Care Programme Approach.
- Accept and assess patients referred to the service.
- Develop packages of care to meet the highly specialized needs of the client group.
- Have an excellent working knowledge of medical implications of eating disorders, ensuring good medical monitoring and interpretation of results.
The successful candidate will be well-supported by the service and will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including those with complex needs. The role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
Person Specification- Experience and skills in working with people with eating disorders, underpinned with specialist theoretical knowledge.
- Extensive evidence of post-qualification experience, including community working experience.
- Formal postgraduate diploma-level qualification in a relevant field, such as CBT or Clinical Leadership.
- Ability to manage and prioritize a complex caseload, demonstrating excellent risk assessment and management skills.
- Experience in supervising other staff members, including colleagues of other professions and grades.
- Good in-depth working knowledge of medical implications related to eating disorders.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
