A highly skilled Clinical Psychologist is required to join our Adult Autism Service, providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment for individuals with autism and complex mental health needs. About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to lead on the assessment and treatment of adults with autism, using evidence-based approaches and working collaboratively with other professionals to achieve excellent outcomes. The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical psychology, including experience of working therapeutically with individuals with autism and co-occurring mental health conditions. They will be able to demonstrate their commitment to delivering high-quality care and service provision, as well as their ability to identify and employ mechanisms of clinical governance to support and maintain clinical practice in the face of challenging situations.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing adults referred to the service with complex presentations and co-occurring conditions, offering written formulation, information and recommendations to them, their family and carers and other professionals involved in their care. They will also contribute to a programme of training and development for all staff within CPFT to improve skills in working with individuals presenting with autistic features and co-occurring conditions. Additionally, they will utilise research skills for audit, policy and service development and research within the area served by the Team/Service.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will possess a doctoral level qualification in Clinical Psychology or Counselling Psychology, as accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). They will be registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and have a minimum of 2 years' experience of specialist psychological assessment, formulation and treatment of service users across the full range of care settings. They will also have experience of exercising clinical responsibility for service users' psychological care and treatment under supervision and/or within the context of a multidisciplinary team setting.
Salary and Benefits
This is a permanent full-time position, with a salary of £54,919 - £80,414 per annum, depending on experience. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer a range of benefits, including annual leave, pension scheme and opportunities for professional development and career progression.
