Advanced Practitioner Radiographer - Skin Role

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Practitioner Radiographer - Skin to join our team in a forward-thinking radiotherapy department at Velindre University NHS Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a specialist service that provides cutting-edge care to patients across Wales.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and participate in patient preparation in the Mould room and delivery of radiotherapy to the skin across all treatment modalities.
  • Be an effective team player in the tumour-specific multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the total care of patients undergoing Radiotherapy treatment.
  • Provide radiotherapy knowledge to the multi-disciplinary team and network as required.
  • Offer information and support to relatives and carers to ensure the patient's ongoing care and holistic well-being.
  • Operate inter-professionally between the MDT, medical physics, medical staff, radiographers, and other allied health care professionals, advising and referring to other healthcare providers as necessary.
  • Be qualified to practice as an Operator within Radiotherapy as defined by IR(ME)R.

Requirements
  • Registration with Health Professions Council.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles and concepts underpinning applications and techniques used in radiotherapy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current oncology issues.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification.
Experience
  • Experience in skin radiotherapy preparation.
  • Experience in skin radiotherapy delivery.
  • Quality assurance.
  • Experience in consent in radiotherapy.
  • Experience in non-medical consent.
  • Flexible approach to work and needs of the service.
  • Welsh Speaker (Level 1) or willingness to work towards.
Other
  • Flexible approach to work and needs of the service.
  • Understanding that work may be required to cover emergency and on-call treatments.
  • Routine working during evenings and weekends.
  • Shifts and/or extended days to suit the service.
