Advanced Practitioner Radiographer - Skin Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Advanced Practitioner Radiographer - Skin to join our team in a forward-thinking radiotherapy department.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage and participate in patient preparation in the Mould room and delivery of radiotherapy to the skin across all treatment modalities.
  • Be an effective team player in the tumour-specific multi-disciplinary team and contribute to the total care of patients undergoing Radiotherapy treatment.
  • Provide radiotherapy knowledge to the multi-disciplinary team and network as required.
  • Offer information and support to relatives and carers to ensure the patient's ongoing care and holistic well-being.
  • Operate inter-professionally between the MDT, medical physics, medical staff, radiographers, and other allied health care professionals, advising and referring to other healthcare providers as necessary.
  • Be qualified to practice as an Operator within Radiotherapy as defined by IR(ME)R.

Requirements
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council.
  • Working at Masters level or equivalent.
  • Expert Practice MSc module or equivalent in a specific area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles and concepts underpinning applications and techniques used in radiotherapy.
  • Knowledge and understanding of current oncology issues.
  • Full knowledge of radiation regulations.
  • Evidence of further study to Masters Level.
  • Leadership or management studies/qualification.
  • Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification.
  • Consent MSc Module or equivalent.
Experience
  • Knowledge and understanding of principles and concepts underpinning applications and techniques used in radiotherapy.
  • Sound practical ability.
  • Experience in skin radiotherapy preparation.
  • Experience in skin radiotherapy delivery.
