About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Gynaecology Nurse Specialist to join our team at the Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will provide a comprehensive specialist nursing service to patients with gynaecology tumours, working within a team of clinical nurse specialists, healthcare support workers, and advanced practice nurses.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and clinical leadership and expertise in the care of patients with gynaecological cancers.
  • Act as a resource and consultant to provide information and support to patients, carers, and staff.
  • Lead and contribute to the formulation of policies.
  • Liaise effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to achieve a synchronised specialist service across both sites.
  • Provide informal and formal teaching, such as academic courses provided by the School of Cancer Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Requirements
  • Registration as a nurse with a relevant qualification in oncology or a speciality.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development.
  • Recognised teaching qualification.
  • Qualification in oncology or speciality, or equivalent.
  • Evidence of masters-level learning or prepared to work towards.
  • Be willing to undertake the Trust's CNS role development programme or demonstrate equivalent competencies.
Experience
  • Sufficient post-registration nursing experience in oncology or a speciality to be confident and competent in using the required skills to do the job.
  • Experience in chemotherapy administration.
  • Experience in clinical management.
  • Evidence of relevant teaching experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of clinical trials management.
  • Previous experience of working as a clinical nurse specialist.
  • Experience of audit and research.
Skills and Abilities
  • Venepuncture and/or cannulation skills.
