About the Role

As a Learning Support Mentor, you will provide personalized support to students with special educational needs (SEN), guiding them through their educational journeys and empowering them to thrive. You will work closely with teachers to create engaging and effective learning strategies, track and monitor student progress, and maintain a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect and focus.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver tailored support to students with SEN, adapting your approach to meet their individual needs.
  • Collaborate with teachers to create engaging and effective learning strategies.
  • Track and monitor student progress, maintaining open communication with educators to ensure learning objectives are achieved.
  • Create a welcoming and supportive classroom environment where students feel safe to express themselves.
  • Encourage the development of social skills and self-confidence among students.
  • Assist in maintaining a positive classroom atmosphere that promotes respect and focus.
Requirements
  • Prior experience working with children with SEN is essential.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively engage with students and work collaboratively with staff.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to cater to the diverse needs of students in various settings.
  • A genuine passion for education and a commitment to helping young learners thrive.
  • Good organisational skills to manage your time effectively and keep track of student progress.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new strategies for supporting students.
