Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Specialist Support Staff to join our team at GSL Education in Plymouth. This role requires strong communication skills, patience, and a commitment to supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a dynamic and inclusive environment.

About the Role

This position involves providing tailored support to students, working closely with teachers to develop engaging lesson plans, and fostering a positive classroom atmosphere. A driving license and access to a vehicle are preferred, but not essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting students with SEN in various educational settings
  • Collaborating with teachers to create effective lesson plans and strategies
  • Maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with colleagues and parents/guardians
Requirements
  • A solid understanding of SEN principles and best practices
  • Desired experience with Autism and SEMH
  • Demonstrated patience and a caring approach when working with students
  • Ability to work collaboratively and build strong relationships with colleagues
