Job Title: Contract Manager - Service Procurement Specialist

Location: Head Office in Falkirk, with projects throughout Scotland

Employment Type: Full-time, Permanent

Our client, a leading specialist in the restoration and enhancement of concrete structures, is seeking an experienced Contract Manager with a strong commercial awareness and great understanding of contract management to join their team on a permanent basis.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Contract Oversight: Oversee multiple contracts to ensure financial, safety, quality, and environmental targets are met.
  2. Pre-Contract Planning: Collaborate with estimators during the pre-contract phase to ensure accurate project planning and resource allocation.
  3. Team Leadership: Lead and delegate tasks to engineering and contract staff to ensure effective project delivery.
  4. Contract Administration: Accept, approve, and issue contracts and subcontracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
  5. Project Planning: Plan, programme, and resource contracts effectively to meet project deadlines and budget requirements.
  6. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise, negotiate, and meet with clients, consulting engineers, surveyors, sub-contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and project delivery.
  7. Bid Preparation: Assist in preparing high-quality bids, PQQs, and presentations as required to secure new business opportunities.
  8. Advisory Role: Provide technical, contractual, and legal advice to the team to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  9. Financial Oversight: Provide accurate information for monthly contract appraisals, budget monitoring, and financial control to ensure effective project delivery.
  10. Claims Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage claims and variations to ensure fair and timely resolution.
  11. Payment Applications: Compile applications for payment and agree on final accounts to ensure timely payment and project closure.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  1. Education: Minimum of a degree or HNC in civil engineering or a related field.
  2. Experience: Essential experience in civil engineering contract management, with a strong understanding of contract administration and commercial principles.
  3. Health & Safety: Strong understanding of health and safety policies and procedures.
  4. Contracting Knowledge: Solid grasp of contracting principles and contract forms, with the ability to apply this knowledge in a commercial context.
  5. Relationship Building: Proven ability to build and maintain positive working relationships with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
  6. IT Proficiency: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to learn new software and systems quickly.
  7. Driving Licence: Full UK driver's licence, with the ability to travel to project sites as required.
