Medical Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Medical Care Specialist to join our team within the Acute Medical Unit at Ninewells Hospital. This dynamic unit provides acute and emergency care to patients with a wide range of medical conditions, and it encompasses an Ambulatory Assessment Area. The successful candidate will collaborate with various services and healthcare professionals across the interface of acute and primary care.
Urgent Care Services, which includes the Acute Medicine Unit, operates within the Medicine Directorate in NHS Tayside. The Acute Medicine Unit comprises Acute Medical Assessment, Ambulatory Assessment, and Short Stay Medicine.
A key requirement for this role is effective communication and teamwork skills. You must be able to demonstrate your ability to work collaboratively as part of a high-performing team, delivering exceptional patient care and continually improving the patient experience.
The ideal candidate will hold a relevant qualification, such as SVQII level, and be willing to achieve SVQIII or equivalent. They should possess excellent interpersonal skills and have experience working as a Healthcare Support Worker in an in-patient hospital setting. A strong understanding of the Mandatory Induction Standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland is essential.
This is a fantastic opportunity to develop and enhance your skills and knowledge, building on any existing expertise. We offer full-time hours preferred but various hours available, including day and night rotation over 7 days.
