About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineering Team Leader to join our maintenance team at Avara Foods. As a key player in ensuring the smooth running of our hatchery machinery, you will be responsible for planning maintenance and reactive repairs, as well as continually looking for improvements in future processes.

Working Hours:

You will work 45 hours per week on a 2-week rota, with the following schedule:

Week 1: Monday - Friday, 06:00 - 15:30.

Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday, 06:30 - 15:30.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.
  • Implementing and maintaining engineering best practices and processes across site.
  • Managing, motivating, and mentoring a team of engineers.
  • Improving equipment reliability and stamping out recurring faults.
  • Responsibility for equipment servicing and maintenance with external service providers.
  • Supporting the backup call-out rota.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience leading or managing a team.
  • Ability to bring a team together with open communication, teamwork, and a positive work culture.
  • Completed an engineering apprenticeship or qualifications at level 3 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience within the agricultural or food industry would be beneficial.
