Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Warehouse and Dispatch Operator to join our team at Matthews International in Bury. The successful candidate will be responsible for dispatching printing plates and other products in accordance with company specifications and quality procedures, as well as performing general maintenance duties for the site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispatch printing plates and other products in accordance with the specifications outlined in the company MIS system.
  • Liaise with management to organize special deliveries or goods.
  • Unload deliveries using appropriate lifting equipment such as the Stacker Truck and store them in the appropriate place.
  • Manage the receipt of all goods deliveries, materials, and stock, obtaining the relevant documentation and distributing it to the relevant departments.
  • Bring to the attention of management any discrepancies or problems relating to either the dispatch or receipt of goods, materials, or supplies.
  • Drive the Company Van for the purpose of delivering goods to customer sites and dispatch depots, obtaining the necessary documentation/signatures on delivery notes while maintaining a log of all deliveries and mileage for each journey.
  • Ensure the Company Van is maintained to the highest standard and that it is always legally roadworthy, paying attention to Road Tax, MOT, and Insurance documents.
  • When required, obtain prices for repair and general maintenance work from external sources and submit them to Management for approval.
  • Manage and maintain a toolkit with appropriate tools for site maintenance requirements.
  • In conjunction with other team members, ensure all production deadlines are met.
  • Ensure the Company's Quality procedures outlined in the Quality Manual are always followed.
  • Assist in other production areas as required.
  • Be aware of and cooperate with the Company's Health & Safety Policy, ISO Procedures, and the Company's procedures outlined in the Employee Handbook.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role is required.
  • Experience in the printing industry is desirable.
  • A full British Driving license is essential.
  • General maintenance skills are necessary.
  • Good IT skills are required.
  • Excellent attention to detail is essential.
  • The ability to work individually and as part of a team is necessary.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills are required.
  • A positive and enthusiastic attitude is essential.
  • The ability to use one's own initiative is necessary.
