Urban Economist Role

Oxford Economics is seeking a highly experienced urban economist to lead our cities team in producing research on city and regional economies. The successful candidate will oversee the production of thematic research, lead research projects, and contribute to existing outputs by enhancing methodologies, drafting reports, and presenting results to clients and media.

The role involves working with diverse clients worldwide, requiring strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidates with a strong academic background in economics, geography, or a related discipline, and at least 10 years' experience undertaking relevant work, are suitable for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guide and coordinate topical and thematic research on city and regional economies;
  • Produce research reports and reaction insights to major news developments;
  • Ensure Oxford Economics' city forecast methods and research are market-leading;
  • Promote the company's external brand in the field of city analytics;
  • Present analysis and findings to clients and media;
  • Plan and structure projects, coordinating junior team members' contributions;
  • Support team development, sharing knowledge, mentoring junior colleagues, and introducing new ideas and techniques.

Salary: £80,000 - £120,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

Location: London, UK (with opportunities to work from other global offices)
