Teaching Assistant Role

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in Ellesmere Port and Chester area. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to provide high-quality support for students in secondary and SEN settings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting teachers in delivering engaging lessons
  • Assisting students with their educational and social development
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support for pupils who need additional help
  • Supporting children with SEN, where applicable
  • Helping to manage classroom behaviour
  • Encouraging positive learning and reinforcing classroom expectations

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children in school settings, care roles, or youth work
  • A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting students
  • Strong communication skills and a passion for education
  • An understanding of SEN is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Teaching Personnel
