Job Description

New Directions Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team in the Cheshire West and Chester area.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and social development of pupils in local Primary schools. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to implement Individual Education Programmes (IEPs) and help monitor student progress.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the educational and social development of pupils under the direction of the head teacher, ALNCO, and class teachers
  • Implement strategies to manage behaviour and contribute to the management of pupil behaviour
  • Provide support for individual students inside and outside the classroom to enable them to fully participate in activities
  • Assist class teachers with maintaining student records
  • Support students with emotional or behavioural problems and help develop their social skills

Requirements:

  • Experience of supporting pupils with special educational needs
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
