A high-profile opportunity has emerged for a seasoned Head of Compliance and Quality Assurance to spearhead the Group QHSE & S Director in overseeing the efficient management and effective performance of the Transport QHSE Team. As Head of Compliance and Quality Assurance, you will be dedicated to fostering a robust and compliant safety culture within the Transport Division's cleaning contracts, ensuring all parties meet and consistently exceed the required Quality, Health, Safety, and Compliance regulations.

The successful candidate will be accountable for guaranteeing that the cleaning contracts deliver their activities safely, adhering to the outlined legislative and industry regulations, standards, and processes. You will work closely with the respective Heads of QHSE, Quality, and Environment to ensure the Transport Division is fully aligned and compliant with Churchill's integrated management system (ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001). This includes maintaining RISQS accreditations and aligning with RSSB initiatives where relevant.

Your responsibilities will encompass internal monitoring and auditing of all Health, Safety, and Compliance obligations within the contract, providing associated reports monthly to the Group QHSE & S Director, Managing Director, and Ops/Account Director. As a leader, you will create and maintain a climate in which individuals understand safety has a high value and are clear about responsibilities, safety aims, and objectives.

To excel in this role, you will require:

  • A strong understanding of Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental regulations
  • Experience of Rail Industry Supplier Qualification Scheme (RISQS) and Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB)
  • H&S Level 6 Qualification, Nebosh Diploma/Nebosh Certificate, and current enrollment in Dip/NVQ6
  • Member of IOSH or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years' experience managing the Health and Safety of large FTE volumes in a rail environment
  • Competent in management systems such as ISO 14001, 9001, or 45001 and working with certification bodies
  • Excellent written and oral English communication and interpersonal skills
  • Previous experience dealing with diverse situations assertively
  • Strong leadership skills and Auditor Qualification/experience
