Senior Lung Cancer Research Specialist

The Christie NHS Foundation Trust is a leading centre for cancer treatment and research, with a strong focus on advancing the field of medical oncology. We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Oncology Research Fellow to join our team.
This exciting opportunity will provide you with the chance to work alongside a multidisciplinary team of clinicians and researchers, contributing to the development of innovative treatments and therapies for lung cancer patients. As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in designing and implementing clinical trials, working closely with consultants, clinical fellows, and specialist registrars to manage large disease group clinical trial portfolios.
The successful candidate will have a Medical degree and full General Medical Council (GMC) registration with a license to practice. They will also have International English Language Testing System (IELTS)/OET proficiency at the time of post commencement. The Fellowship is a one-year, full-time position that offers a rich learning environment in all aspects of care and treatment of lung cancer.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Dividing your time between research and a moderate clinical commitment
- Attending clinics and multidisciplinary meetings
- Participating in clinical research meetings and trial planning or set-up meetings
- Reviewing clinical data, writing abstracts/manuscripts, and planning new studies
We offer a competitive salary within the range £49,909 - £70,425 per annum, dependent on experience and qualifications. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract for a clinical Fellow to provide support to the Medical Oncology Lung Team for 40 hours per week.
The overall goal of this fellowship is to provide a stimulating environment for professional growth and development, enabling you to gain knowledge and insight into the management of a programme of routine clinical care alongside clinical research. We encourage candidates to contribute to the research portfolio with individual projects, aiming to publish abstracts and papers.
