Rem Associates Ltd. is a large wholesaler in the food industry seeking an experienced General Manager in Distribution to maximize site performance, customer requirements, and operational efficiency.

Job Description

As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for formulating relationships with customers, integrating new working patterns, and demonstrating effective communications with employees, Trade Unions, and the customer base. Your primary objective will be to control P & L data, manage a diverse team, and prioritize effectively to meet customer targets and volumes.

Requirements
  • A Graduate caliber with 5 years' experience in logistics management roles, including at least 3 years in logistics experience.
  • Proven customer management skills at A level, with experience in change management, succession planning, and development of managers.
  • Excellent IT literacy, finance/Profit & Loss Management, project management, people leadership, and commercial acumen.
  • Negotiating and contracting skills, as well as the ability to identify key issues and priorities, lead and manage change, and achieve results in complex/ambiguous situations.
Responsibilities
  • To maximize weekly, monthly, and annual performance of the site(s) by providing leadership, focusing on customer requirements, effective operational performance, and a motivated workforce.
  • Work in partnership with the customer, formulating relationships within the customer network, and integrate new working patterns to effect continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrate effective communications with employees, Trade Unions, and the customer base, manage a diverse team to fulfill business requirements, and prioritize effectively to meet customer targets and volumes.
  • React to changes in volumes as outlined by the customer master schedule, manage the effect of new model introduction on workforce flexibility, and control P & L data to the level of expectation as deemed by the contract with the customer.
  • Contribute to the broader commercial environment, taking responsibility for attracting new and additional business, and controlling costs and ensuring profitability.

$80,000 - $120,000 per annum (dependent on experience).
