Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Relief Driver to join our team at Gregory Group. As a Relief Driver, you will be responsible for covering holiday and sickness absences, ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring load security and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Delivering and collecting goods to customers using a curtain-sided vehicle, maintaining excellent customer service standards.
  • Completing daily vehicle checks using a handheld PDA and reporting any issues or concerns to the transport team.
  • Communicating effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations.
  • Participating in regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
  • Adapting to changing circumstances, including flexible working hours and varying workloads.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Valid UK Class 1 CE Licence.
  • Current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a passion for delivering high-quality service.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a flexible and adaptable approach.
  • Good geographical knowledge and ability to navigate using maps and GPS.
