We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Relief Class 1 Driver to join our team at Gregory Group. As a Relief Class 1 Driver, you will be responsible for covering holiday and sickness absences, ensuring the smooth operation of our transportation services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Loading and unloading vehicles, ensuring load security and compliance with safety regulations.
- Delivering and collecting goods to customers using a curtain-sided vehicle, maintaining a high level of customer service.
- Completing daily vehicle checks using a handheld PDA and reporting any issues to the transport team.
- Communicating effectively with customers, colleagues, and management to ensure seamless operations.
- Participating in regular training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Adapting to changing circumstances, including varying shifts and days, to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements:
- Hold a valid UK Class 1 CE Licence.
- Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card.
- Be passionate about delivering exceptional customer service and working in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
- Good geographical knowledge and ability to navigate using a GPS system.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy loads, as required.
