About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our cancer care team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist psychological therapy and assessment for patients with cancer.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement highly specialized clinical health psychology pathways for patients living with cancer, in line with NICE guidelines and Core Standards.
  • Provide clinical supervision to Macmillan and facilitate living well groups to patients, ensuring high standards of psychological practice.
  • Contribute to the implementation, development, and evaluation of the service, working closely with the consultant clinical psychologist, clinical colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Offer supervision in psychological skills to other less experienced psychological practitioners and to health service staff working in the service.
  • Contribute to and facilitate a varied training programme for healthcare professionals, including teaching, training, and supervision.
Person Specification

We are looking for a registered Clinical or Counselling Psychologist or Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with completed appropriate training in CBT therapy. You will have experience of specialist psychological assessment and treatment of clients across a range of care settings, including outpatient, community, primary care, and inpatient settings.

You will also have experience of working with patients with a wide range of psychological problems, including community mental health and long-term health conditions. A post-qualification training in evidence-based therapies and leadership training or qualification are desirable.
