Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead by example and support the management team to run the shift
  • Mentor and support newer staff members
  • Encourage young people to participate in activities and take responsibility for their own lives
  • Keep the homely, friendly culture and environment of the homes
  • Protect children and young people from risks to their health and welfare
  • Provide support for the children and young people in the home and promote their independence and well-being
  • Maintain a safe environment for young people
  • Ensure the safety of the students and maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the individual\u2019s care plan, guidelines, reward system, and preferred method of communication
  • Support taxing behaviour safely and sympathetically
  • Develop and maintain good working relationships with the staff, parents, Social Workers, and other professionals involved in the young people\u2019 lives
Requirements:
  • NVQ or QCF Level 3 in Children and Young People or equivalent is ESSENTIAL
  • 2-year experience in a residential children\u2019s home environment is ESSENTIAL
  • A Full Driving Licence is ESSENTIAL as you may be required to transport the children from time to time
  • Ability to work the shift pattern (8am-10pm plus sleep ins)
