About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Capability Scotland. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting a young lady with autism and epilepsy in her daily life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support to the young lady, including assistance with daily living tasks and activities.
  • Develop and maintain a positive relationship with the young lady, promoting her independence and well-being.
  • Support the young lady to attend the ARC in Dumfries a few days per week, ensuring her safety and comfort during transportation.
  • Collaborate with the young lady's family and other professionals to ensure a comprehensive support plan is in place.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge in supporting individuals with autism and epilepsy.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in social care and/or support services.
  • Medically and epilepsy trained, with a willingness to undergo additional training if required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with the young lady and her family.
  • A patient and caring nature, with a commitment to promoting the young lady's independence and well-being.
  • A driving license is preferable, but not essential.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive hourly rate of £12.
  • A 21-hour per week contract, spread over a 3-day period with no weekend work required.
