Job Title: Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Empowering Learning. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with complex and/or medical difficulties, including Autism ASD, Dyslexia, Aspergers Syndrome, Hearing or Visual Impairment, and comfortable with personal care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with emotional regulation and develop therapeutic relationships with them.
  • Understand therapy goals and aims, and promote and support the inclusion of all students in learning activities and maximize their achievement.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for students.
Requirements:
  • Experience in supporting children or young adults with SEND needs is desirable but not essential.
  • Able to de-escalate and support emotional regulation.
  • Valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one.
  • Available 5 days a week and able to commit to at least 12-39 weeks.

The successful candidate will be required to complete Disclosure and Barring Service declarations in line with Section 115 of the Police Act 1997. You will also be required to provide 2 professional references covering at least the last 2 years, and complete our online application followed by a video or face-to-face interview.
