About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Associate Specialist Doctor to join our multidisciplinary team. As an Associate Specialist Doctor, you will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist to provide continuous medical cover to patients on the ward. You will be responsible for assessing, investigating, diagnosing, and treating patients under Consultant supervision, ensuring timely modifications to treatment plans as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide high-quality medical care to patients, including assessment, investigation, diagnosis, and treatment under Consultant supervision.
  2. Work collaboratively with the Consultant Psychiatrist to ensure seamless patient care and effective treatment plans.
  3. Develop and maintain a therapeutic milieu, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for patients.
  4. Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, adhering to Priory Healthcare's standards and guidelines.
  5. Participate in multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and strategic reviews to ensure optimal patient care.
  6. Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research, best practices, and regulatory requirements, maintaining CPD and re-validation requirements.
Requirements
  1. Fulfilling the role of Approved Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  2. 12 months' adult psychiatry experience, with relevant experience within a similar setting preferred.
  3. Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred).
  4. Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity.
  5. The ability to interview, assess, and treat patients, and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.
