About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Associate Specialist Doctor to join our multidisciplinary team. As an Associate Specialist Doctor, you will work closely with the Consultant Psychiatrist to provide continuous medical cover to patients on the ward. Your responsibilities will include assessing, investigating, diagnosing, and treating patients under Consultant supervision, as well as reviewing their mental and physical well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Full GMC registration
- Fulfilling the role of Approved Clinician to patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983)
- 12 months' adult psychiatry experience
- Relevant experience within a similar setting (preferred)
- Approval under Section 12 of the Mental Health Act (preferred)
- Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983 (2007) and Code of Practice along with Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Capacity
- The ability to interview, assess, and treat patients and write clear comprehensive medical notes
- Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and the development of a therapeutic milieu
- Maintaining CPD and re-validation requirements, as determined by the Royal College of Psychiatrists or other relevant statutory bodies
