Deputy Nurse Manager Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Deputy Nurse Manager to join our client's thriving care home, which offers nursing and specialist dementia care. With a Good CQC rating, this role plays a key part in ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to residents.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the Nurse Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of the nursing department within the care home.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support to nursing staff to ensure high-quality care for residents.
  • Participate in developing and implementing care plans and treatment protocols tailored to the needs of our residents.
  • Conduct regular assessments of resident care and outcomes, ensuring individual needs are met.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and evaluating nursing staff within the care home.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory and organizational standards related to care provision.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to promote high-quality and resident-centred care.
Requirements:
  • RGN (Registered General Nurse) or RMN (Registered Mental Health Nurse) qualification, with an active UK NMC pin.
  • Demonstrated experience in a deputy nurse manager role within a care home setting.
  • Strong clinical knowledge and expertise in mental health nursing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for resident and staff interactions.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make decisions in a fast-paced care home environment.
  • Understanding of and commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion in healthcare within a care home context.
