About the Role

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly motivated and experienced professional to join our team as an Outpatient Business Manager. This exciting opportunity will involve working closely with clinical, operational, and administrative teams to modernise and streamline outpatient processes and structures aligned with strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop business plans to achieve organisational goals, including financial planning, marketing strategies, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Lead teams, managing staff, and overseeing day-to-day operations, including hiring, training, and evaluating employees, as well as fostering a positive work environment.
  • Lead the development and implementation of outpatient operational change management plans across the Trust, in partnership with the outpatient administration centre (OAC) and care groups, and in line with national recommendations and guidance.
  • Act as a liaison between different departments, management, and stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication throughout the organisation.

    • Master's or equivalent experience
    • Qualifications in Project/Programme Management

    • Experience of financial management and reporting
    • Experience of leading and influencing a team to adopt consistent processes, and procedures
    • Experience of producing high quality reports
    • Experience of using data to influence processes and practices
    • Team management experience
    • Effective communication with a range of different stakeholders
    • Leadership and influencing skills that align to UHS values
    • Ability to role model collaborative working
    • Experience of conducting formal grievance, performance, and disciplinary procedures
