Our Outpatients department at the Royal South Hants hospital, Southampton is a busy and dynamic environment, seeing and treating 1,500 patients per month. We are seeking additional Healthcare Assistants to join our focused, friendly, professional, and supportive Outpatients team.
Job Responsibilities- Support Doctors, registered Nurses, and other professional staff with the overall responsibility for all patients within the outpatient department.
- Carry out routine patient monitoring and care duties, ensuring patients receive a high standard of care.
- Investigate patient pathways, update patient records, and ensure the patient pathway is being followed and documented.
- Prepare patients for treatments or surgery, conduct necessary checks, and perform phlebotomy when required.
- Work closely with Lab Technicians, providing required cross-referencing detail and background information relating to the patient and the blood sample taken.
- Perform administrative tasks, such as collecting patient information, photocopying particulars, and transporting patient paperwork to other departments.
- Monitor and maintain a clean and safe environment, identifying potential hazards and reporting them to the Department Manager.
