Job Description

 

We are seeking a Volunteer Community Catering Team Member to join our team at South Gloucestershire Council.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable members of our community by assisting and preparing nutritious meals for delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • You will work with the catering team to prepare and cook hot and cold food and snacks for lunch and tea time meals, adhering to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
  • You will assist the cook in ensuring the food service is on time, serviced and packed for distribution.
  • You will actively participate in cleaning duties and complete scheduled tasks.
  • You will have the opportunity to learn new skills and develop your abilities.
What You Need To Know

As a Saturday volunteer, you can choose from either 7.00 am or 8.00 am start times, finishing at mid-day (3.5 hours). We offer flexible scheduling and may provide additional shifts if requested. Our year-round service operates throughout Christmas and Bank holidays, and you will be provided with uniform. Basic training in food hygiene and allergens will be offered.

Your Skills and Qualifications
  • You must have experience working in a food preparation environment and possess exceptional customer service skills.
  • You should be able to work efficiently and sustain a pace suitable for the demands of the role.
  • You will be required to demonstrate high standards of cleanliness and hygiene within the workplace.
Benefits and Remuneration

We estimate the annual salary for this position to be around £16,000 - £20,000 based on the location and industry standards. As a member of our team, you will also enjoy a range of benefits.
