About the RoleThe Category Manager will play a key role in driving profitable growth and achieving financial targets. This involves developing and implementing category strategies, managing the profit and loss of the category, and leading a high-performing team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement category strategies aligned with the overall business objectives, considering market trends, customer insights, and competitive analysis.
- Drive the development and execution of product assortment, pricing strategies, and promotional activities to maximise sales and profitability.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate favourable terms and conditions, and ensure the availability of high-quality products at competitive prices.
- Assist in analysing financial data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for revenue growth and cost optimisation within assigned categories.
- Collaborate with various internal stakeholders, including marketing, sales, operations, and finance, to ensure alignment and effective execution of category strategies.
- Conduct regular market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and competitive threats.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to track the performance of assigned categories.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks and challenges that may impact category performance.
- You'll be a solution-focused decision-maker who can work under pressure, obsess over the customer, and make the right choices to benefit their experience.
- You'll demonstrate strategic thinking and strong commercial acumen.
- You'll be creative, passionate, and innovative.
- You'll be positive, driven, and bring energy to the role.
- You'll have product lifecycle experience in a multiple retail/Multi-Channel business with significant online presence.
