Senior Support Worker - Children With Disabilities Nights

Essex County Council is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Support Worker to join our D-BIT Edge of Care Core Service team. As a Senior Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing support to children and young people with disabilities, ensuring their safety and well-being.

About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of child development, family dynamics, and the complexities of working with children with disabilities. You will work closely with families, social workers, and other professionals to provide tailored support and interventions that promote positive outcomes for children and young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct support to children and young people with disabilities, including overnight stays and weekend work.
  • Work collaboratively with families, social workers, and other professionals to develop and implement support plans.
  • Conduct assessments and risk assessments to identify the needs of children and young people.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with families, social workers, and other professionals to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Participate in training and development events to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Level 3 qualification in a relevant field, such as social care or child development.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with disabilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends.
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle.
