About the Role


We are seeking a friendly and efficient Receptionist to join our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit team. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, families, and visitors, providing a warm and welcoming environment.



Key Responsibilities



  • Meet and greet all callers to the Neonatal Unit personally or by phone, ensuring a high level of customer care and communication.
  • Manage incoming telephone calls and relay messages appropriately, using the Trust's values and behaviours as a guide.
  • Facilitate the access of patients and visitors to and from the Neonatal Unit, using the security doors and ensuring accurate directions to relatives' locations.
  • Make necessary arrangements for the admission, transfer, and discharge of babies, checking all documentation has been completed and accurate.
  • Keep all medical records in an orderly and presentable form, including correctly identifying history sheets and investigation reports.


Requirements



  • Customer care experience, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Excellent telephone skills, interpersonal skills, and ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Awareness of equality, diversity, privacy, and dignity rights.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, and cope with unpredictable workloads.
  • Good general health, good keyboard skills, and ability to lift heavy notes.
  • Prepared to work full rotational shifts, including evenings, nights, and weekends.
