Fitter - Maintenance Specialist

We are currently seeking a Fitter to be based at our Raisby Quarry. This role will support the sites Maintenance plan & improving equipment reliability by carrying out preventive and corrective maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- The Fitter will support the maintenance & operations teams and be a central part of the maintenance team by carrying out planned and corrective maintenance on the plant as directed by their team leader or managers.
- They will receive work instructions for routine planned and corrective maintenance and carry out the duties as written or directed.
- The Fitter will work within a team or singly as required by their immediate person in charge.
- They will ensure all activities are carried out within the company requirements of safety, environment and quality and perform other duties as requested by their team leader or manager.
- The Fitter will carry out planned, preventive and reactive mechanical maintenance to production plant and equipment.
- Specifically, they will remove, repair and reassemble conveyors, rollers, and side skirts. Knowledge of pumps, motors, pulleys, bearings, shafts, gearboxes, pneumatics, and hydraulics is essential for this role.
- The Fitter will have a good understanding of health safety and environmental impacts of their role.
- They will have experience and understanding of mechanical fitting and maintenance of equipment including conveyors, pumps, pipes, valves, filter systems, pneumatics hydraulics bearings, gear boxes etc.
- The Fitter will be skilled in welding and burning for fabrication and maintenance.
- They will use pulling and lifting equipment.
- The Fitter will be experienced in the use of workshop equipment.
- They will have mechanical fault finding skills.
- The Fitter will be competent in basic Multi Skilling.
Requirements
- The Fitter will have completed a recognized mechanical engineering apprenticeship.
- They will have essential experience working on heavy plant, fixed and/or mobile.
