SEN Teaching Support Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) support professional to join our thriving SEN school in Ashford, UK. The successful candidate will have a nurturing approach to education and be passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with special needs.
As an SEN teaching assistant, you will provide individualized support to students through 1:1 or small group teaching, monitoring and recording their progress, and participating in ongoing professional development opportunities. You will also support pupils emotionally alongside their academic studies.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with children or young people with SEN, although this is not essential. A baseline knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions is required, as well as a commitment to promoting inclusivity and diversity within the school community. Personal experience with SEN is advantageous.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to students with SEN
- Monitor and record students' progress
- Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities
- Support pupils emotionally
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN desirable
