Microelectronics Design Methodology Engineer Industrial Placement

We are seeking a talented and motivated individual to join our team as a Microelectronics Design Methodology Engineer on an industrial placement. This exciting opportunity will provide you with the chance to work on a wide range of projects, from novel device modelling to complex analogue circuits, and reprogrammable FPGA based systems.

About the Role

This challenging role will offer the opportunity to get directly involved in supporting projects across Europe. You will work on a wide range of problems, from novel device modelling, complex analogue circuits, reprogrammable FPGA based systems to large digital ICs implemented at very small transistor geometries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support projects across Europe, working on a wide range of problems from novel device modelling to complex analogue circuits, and reprogrammable FPGA based systems.
  • Collaborate with our team of specialist design methodology engineers to develop and implement design methodologies for microelectronics research.
  • Contribute to the development of new design tools and techniques for chip design.
  • Work closely with our team to identify and communicate relevant technical information in English.
Requirements
  • Currently enrolled on an undergraduate degree course and returning to university/studies to complete your undergraduate degree following the placement.
  • Required or have requested to take an industrial placement year.
  • Have the right to live and work in the UK for the duration of the placement.
  • Able to commence employment in summer 2025.
  • Have a minimum of three A-levels at grade C or above one of which must be mathematics, or alternative qualifications of an equivalent level.
  • Have an excellent understanding of fundamental principles of basic electronic circuits.
  • Enjoy solving challenging electronic engineering problems and have a genuine interest in discovering more about silicon chips and microelectronics design tools.
  • Diligent, reliable and hardworking with good social skills and the ability to identify and communicate relevant technical information in English.
