About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated KS1 SEN Class Teacher to join our team at The Smallberry Green Primary School. As a member of our staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to our students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in our ASD Centre.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach pupils assigned to the teacher, ensuring that planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet their varying learning and social needs.
  • Model the ethos and core values of the school while teaching pupils.
  • Assist in the development of appropriate resources, schemes of work, policies, and teaching strategies within the school.
  • Ensure the effective and efficient use of staff supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.
  • Teach pupils according to their educational needs.
  • Implement and follow school policies and procedures as approved by the Governors and SLT.
  • Set targets for pupils based on prior attainment.
  • Provide a supportive learning environment where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils.
  • Participate in the appraisal process for the evaluation of their own performance.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
  • Experience of teaching pupils with SEN, preferably in an ASD Centre.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Passion for providing high-quality education to students with SEN.
