We are seeking a highly organized and detail-focused individual to join our Health, Safety and Biosafety (HSBS) team at The Pirbright Institute. As a Health and Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the HSBS team's functions and producing critical outputs.
About the RoleThis diverse role encompasses a broad range of administrative activities, supporting the Institute in managing its safety (including biosafety) and environmental duties. You will be responsible for organizing recurrent meetings, taking minutes, and distributing papers/resources to participants as necessary. Additionally, you will monitor a queries inbox, triage emails to the correct members of the team, and coordinate the booking and arrangements for training from external providers.
Key Responsibilities- Organize and coordinate HSBS project work, including purchasing and receipting of equipment/consumables as required.
- Responsible for maintaining an up-to-date suppliers list and monitoring, maintaining, and coordinating the upload of documents in our document management system/s.
- Act as 'Curator' for training modules held on our training management platform, ensuring that courses are assigned to trainees and periodically reviewed by trainers.
- Maintain the HSBS Asset bank and arrange for the routine calibration of equipment as required to maintain compliance.
- Assist with the collection of data that acts as Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) or Safety Performance Indicators (SPIs) for various monitoring programs.
