About the Role
This specialist position is deeply embedded within the Southampton City Council Youth Justice Team, fostering a multidisciplinary collaboration with police, probation services, social care, CAMHS, and other key stakeholders. The successful candidate will contribute significantly to the development and implementation of clinical pathways, driving forward service excellence and ensuring evidence-based practice.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert knowledge and guidance on speech and language therapy best practices within the context of youth justice.
- Develop and deliver comprehensive training packages for staff across the Justice sector and SLT service.
- Support the development of skills in colleagues from various backgrounds, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
- Design and implement outcome measures to assess the effectiveness of the role and inform future service improvements.

Requirements
- A recognized degree-level qualification in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent.
- Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council and Royal College of Speech & Language Therapists.
- Evidence of ongoing professional development and maintenance of CPD in the area of specialism.
- Membership of relevant Special Interest Groups.

Essential Experience
- Proven experience in paediatric therapy, including working independently with children from clinical pathways.
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse clients, addressing complex needs and disorders using various assessment methods.
- Experience in assessing and treating young people aged 12-19 years with SLCN.
- Clinical supervision experience, auditing own and others' practice to drive improvement.
