Job Title: Clinical Psychologist - CAMHS Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our dynamic team at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Psychologist - CAMHS Specialist, you will be responsible for providing highly specialist clinical psychology assessments and interventions for children and young people referred to our Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS).

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide highly specialist clinical psychology assessments and interventions for children and young people referred to CAMHS.
  • Develop and provide a range of highly specialist clinical psychology assessments and interventions/intervention packages for children and young people and their carers and families referred to CAMHS.
  • Lead on overseeing the attachment pathway within CAMHS, offering highly specialist clinical psychology assessments and interventions as appropriate.
  • Consider and cover the needs of Children in Care (CiC), which will include working with the CYP Complex Need Service.

Requirements:

  • A Postgraduate Qualification in Clinical Psychology accredited by the BPS and HCPC.
  • Additional specialist training related to working with children, young people, and their families and carers, including additional specialist training in assessment.
  • Clinical supervision training for doctorate clinical psychology trainees.
  • Registered member of HCPC.
  • Eligible for chartered status as a clinical psychologist.
  • Other related academic qualifications to Masters or Doctorate level.
  • Additional training in systemic therapy.

Experience:

  • Extensive post-qualification experience of working as a specialist clinical psychologist with children, young people, and their carers and families where there are psychological concerns.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience of working with children and young people from preschool age to school leaving age.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience of working with children and young people with a range of disabilities and special needs from mild to extensive difficulties.
  • Extensive experience of working with looked after children and their carers; with children who have experienced abuse.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience of providing specialist clinical psychology assessments of children and young people in various living situations.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience of developing and providing specialist clinical psychology interventions for children, young people, and their carers.
  • Experience of running therapeutic groups and psycho-educational groups for children, young people, and carers.
  • Extensive post-qualification experience of providing specialist clinical psychology advice to parents and carers and staff concerning the care and/or therapeutic provision for children and young people.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of issues for children and young people with learning difficulties, developmental concerns.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of safeguarding and child sexual exploitation issues and procedures.
  • Experience of providing teaching and training to other psychologists and other unqualified and qualified people.
  • Experience of working with young offenders.
  • Experience of working with children and young people who present with sexually concerning behaviours.

Skills:

  • Masters or doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of clinical psychology.
  • Knowledge of relevant child protection, safeguarding and mental health legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development as dictated by the HCPC and the BPS.
  • Experience of developing and providing a specific psychology service with clear policies and measurement of outcomes.
  • Record of having published in either peer-reviewed or academic or professional journals and/or books.
