Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team in South East England. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, support, and care of individuals with learning disabilities.
About the Role:- Work as a team member to maintain a safe, supportive, and caring environment that meets the individual and group needs of service users.
- Demonstrate a positive and person-centred approach at all times.
- Uphold and inspire fellow team members by using the organisation's Aims, Values, and principles of the Challenge Charter.
- Support service users in their daily lives, promoting independence and enabling them to make their own decisions.
- Maintain a comfortable, relaxed, and purposeful environment, undertaking household duties in collaboration with colleagues and service users.
- Complete administrative duties as designated by the service manager and/or senior support staff.
- Participate in and contribute to staff appraisal and supervisions, as well as service user and staff team meetings.
- Offer support to service users on an individual basis, consistent with the aims and objectives of the service and the wider organisation.
- Undertake flexible working arrangements, including weekends, evenings, waking nights, and sleep-in duties, to meet the needs of service users.
- Contribute to the planning, delivery, and review of care plans, assuming designated keyworker responsibilities where required.
- Enable and encourage service users to live as independently as possible, promoting their rights and dignity at all times.
- Ensure the safeguarding of service users, adhering to policies and guidelines to protect and safeguard vulnerable individuals.
- Ability to work effectively and supportively as a member of the staff team.
- Ability to use basic literacy and numeracy.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in an organised and methodical manner.
- Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with unexpected problems that arise.
