About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CHP Service Engineer to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Routine Maintenance: Carry out routine CHP engine servicing, within agreed timescales, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
  • Fault Finding and Diagnosis: Use your technical expertise to identify and diagnose issues with engine reliability and performance, with a focus on successful rectification and return to service of the unit.
  • Electrical Drawing and Manual Skills: Be skilled in the use of electrical drawings and parts manuals to troubleshoot and repair issues.
  • Customer Support: Assist Customer Account Manager and Operational Team Leaders on all aspects of CHP maintenance, ensuring excellent customer service and satisfaction.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety policies and procedures, as well as Veolia's policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise: Be conversant with the use of hand tools, power tools, and test equipment required to carry out CHP servicing and repairs.
  • Gas Engine Maintenance: Have qualifications and/or experience on gas engine maintenance and the ability and desire to be trained.
  • Engineering Knowledge: Have sound knowledge in engineering practices and be conversant with the operation of CHP plant.
  • Gas Safe Training: Be Gas Safe trained or willing to undertake training (paid by Veolia).
  • Call-out Duties: Undertake weekend (1 in 5) call-out duties as required by management.
  • Electrical Fault Finding: Have a sound understanding of electrical fault finding and rectification.
  • Driving Licence: Hold a full driving licence.
