Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our team in a SEMH school setting.

We cater for students with SEMH, ASC, ADHD, and additional learning difficulties, aiming to create an atmosphere of mutual respect and resilience that supports our students to grow into purposeful young adults.

As a Learning Support Assistant, you will work closely with our students, providing individualized support and strategies to help them overcome challenges and achieve their goals.

We are looking for individuals with a genuine passion and strong understanding of SEND, and more specifically SEMH learning environments. You will need to be flexible, adaptable, and able to work effectively with challenging behaviour.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Providing individualized support to students with SEMH needs
  • Developing and implementing strategies to support student learning and development
  • Working collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Supporting students with challenging behaviour and developing strategies to de-escalate incidents

Requirements:

  • Enthusiasm, dedication, and motivation to work with SEND/SEMH students
  • A passion and desire to work with students with additional needs
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt to new learning environments
  • Ability to work with challenging behaviour where applicable
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively with staff and students
  • A valid DBS registered with the online update service or be willing to apply for a new one
