Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant Specialist

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with social, emotional, and mental health challenges. Your duties will include providing one-on-one and small group support, implementing strategies to promote positive behaviour and wellbeing, and collaborating with teachers and other professionals to address specific needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs
  • Implement strategies to promote social and emotional development
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to address specific needs
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of behaviour support plans

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a similar role is advantageous
  • Empathy and a genuine passion for supporting students with SEMH needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents
  • A willingness to learn knowledge of relevant SEMH strategies and interventions
