Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in providing medicines management services to patients within the prison setting.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for administering medicines to patients, providing advice on the appropriate use of medicines, and promoting healthy lifestyles to aid rehabilitation. You will also be involved in dispensing prescriptions, supervising assistants, and ensuring high standards of work in the dispensary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medicines optimisation services to the prison
  • Administer medicines to patients at designated times
  • Undertake medicines reconciliation for prisoners admitted to the prison
  • Supervise assistants in the dispensary
  • Ensure high standards of work in the dispensary and clinics
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in pharmacy services, preferably with experience in a prison or mental health setting. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of medicines management, be able to use computer packages, and have excellent communication skills.
