Senior Urology Fellow in Robotic and Cancer Surgery

St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer a senior urology fellowship in robotic and cancer surgery. This 12-month position is an excellent opportunity for a senior registrar to gain extensive experience in robotic urology and cancer surgery.
Main DutiesThe training program is divided into three streams: prostatectomy, renal surgery, and cystectomy/reconstruction. The fellow will have the opportunity to develop skills in planning and performing complex robotic surgeries, including radical prostatectomy, radical nephrectomy, and pyeloplasty. The training will also include audit and research components, which are essential for reflective learning and patient care.
About the DepartmentThe urology department at St George's Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is a leading center for robotic urology and cancer surgery. The department performs over 550 robotic urological procedures per year, including radical and simple prostatectomy, partial and radical nephrectomy, and cystectomy. The team is led by 7 robotically trained consultants who provide a comprehensive range of robotic services.
Person Specification- MBBS or equivalent
- FRCS Part A and B
- Higher Urology Qualification (FRCS Urology/equivalent)
- Applicant must be a senior registrar on the training circuit or post-CCT
- Knowledge of basic science of surgery and ability to apply it to clinical and research practice
- Ability to make good medical and research notes
- Computer skills, including database management and image processing
