The Urology Department at Barts Health NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Urology Fellow to join our team as a Clinical Fellow in Laparoscopy and Robotics. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and ambitious individual to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care and to develop their skills in minimally invasive therapies, laparoscopy, robotic surgery, and endourology.
Main Responsibilities- Work closely with the Upper Tract Laparoscopy and Robotics Consultants, Stone Consultants, Specialist Registrars, and junior doctors to deliver a comprehensive elective and emergency service to residents of Tower Hamlets and East London.
- Support the Upper Tract Benign Robotic Urology service (SCRUBS) and contribute to the development of clinical sub-speciality training and research related to the service.
- Participate in the management of theatre lists and referral pathways, and demonstrate evidence of good medical practice.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of audit and quality improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and protocols, and participate in the implementation of new procedures and technologies.
- Supervise junior doctors and provide guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, skills, and experience:
- MBBS, MRCS, and full registration with GMC Licence to practice.
- FRCS Urol or equivalent recognised urological qualification.
- MD, MSc, PhD, or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
- Sound basic theoretical medical/surgical knowledge and clinical experience in the management of critical surgical patients.
- Exposure to laparoscopy and robotics, previous urology experience, and proficiency in endourology.
- Evidence of team leadership, good communication skills, and ability to work as part of a team.
- Good working knowledge of the English language and skilled in using EPR.
